George Bautzer was William Hastings' lawyer and Phyllis Hastings' extramarital lover.
Biography
After finding that Bill could not be released on bail after his arrest in relation to the murder of Ruth Davenport, George told this to Phyllis, who informed Bill. She told George that Bill was then aware of their affair and told him not to leave with her, though they did plan on getting together later at her home.[1]
That night, Mr. C shot and killed Phyllis with Bautzer's handgun.[1] He was arrested for her murder.[2]
